To: ellsbells930 and the rest of you frauds that claim to be patriotic! Read this and get educated for once in your life. Both GM and Ford built fantastic vehicles. Not to mention building the other brands that you consider fine automobiles, such as Lincoln, Volvo, Jag, Land Rover, Austin Martin, Cadillac, Hummer, Saab and more. All of those are owned by American manufactures you blockheads.

GM & Ford answered the bell when President Clinton and VP Gore requested the domestic auto makes to build "Hybrids". They did, and proved that not all "Hybrid" have to be based on "Electric". Many of them that have been built and sold over the last fifteen years run on "CNG" (That's "Compressed Natural Gas").

The United States sits on one of the largest fields of Natural Gas in the world. "CNG" burns clean with almost no emission. In fact, many of the municipalities nationwide already run on it. The only reason we as the public are not able to buy the "CNG Hybrids" ourselves is because the Republican Party were more interested making as much money as they could on their investment in Exxon and taking their dividends to the bank, then doing the right thing for our country. They chose to sidetrack mandates to press gas stations nationwide to put in the "CNG" pumps for the public to fill up at. Our government could easily give tax breaks to stations/companies that install said "CNG" pumps. This would create thousands of construction jobs in this country immediately. The Republican Party doesn’t care about the environment, never have, and never will.

Before you buy your Toyota "Electric Hybrid" that has all sorts of problems you should ask a few firefighter/police officers how many of them have been sent to the hospital from Toyota "Electric Hybrids" that have burnt rescue teams and occupants.

"CNG" provides the same power as a "Gas" engine with virtually no emissions. You can't power a bus, truck, Etc. with electric. It doesn't last long enough or make enough power. GM and Ford took their time to make sure the people that purchase their "Electric Hybrids" would be able to walk away safely from one after an accident. GM and Ford are now building both "CNG" and safe "Electric Hybrid" for our country and the rest of the world to take advantage of. If we combine our purchasing power and so called "Patriotism" we could fix this economic problem together. For every one employee of the "Big Three" that has a job, there are seven people spread out across this country that have a job making an automotive part that goes in those cars that also has a job.

Tell your senator and congressman that you want to support the American auto makers that gave millions of dollars after 9/11 (Honda and Toyota gave Zero ($0) you idiots) when they had it available. GM once stopped all of its assembly line to build the U.S. Army tanks for World War II! It's time as a nation to repay those favors. Until then, that is why we'll stay broke as a country; "The people who talk the most, know the least". I hope Obama can re-educate the vast number of you that forgot how to be American. "Support your country and it will support you"

Bailing Out the Auto Industry
Outside The Beltway | OTB — Bailing Out the Auto Industry No matter what your politics are, left or right, I think we can all agree that bailing out the U.S. auto industry is a bad idea. As Conor Friedersdorf notes When an auto firm makes a product inferior to its competitors, signs labor contracts it cannot afford, and focuses its fleet on gas guzzling SUVs at a time of rising gas prices and increased environmental awareness, do you know what that firm and its shareholders deserve? Bankruptcy! At the very least, the American taxpayer shouldn’t be asked to bailout firm executives who managed their business poorly, shareholders who allowed them to do so, and a workforce ...

Mo’ Money
Matthew Yglesias — AIG is getting more bailout. This doesn’t make a bailout for automakers a good idea, but in political economy terms I think it certainly makes the calls harder to resist. Next thing you know broader-and-broader swathes of the world economy will resemble the airline industry where successive rescues means nobody ever goes out of business and the whole sector becomes dysfunctional and dominated by unprofitable and terrible zombie firms. Just saying. ...
