SLRTX MMFA is correct.
The "pre" data in the post by tvbythenumbers is a 14-day period which includes 2 weekends. The "post" data is a 12-day period which includes only 1 weekend.
Because viewership changes during weekends, this is not a true apples-apples comparison.
I took the extra weekend data for 10/24 and 10/25 from tvbythenumbers' own web site and found the results below.

The myth of Fox News' ratings spike
Democratic Underground Latest Breaking News —
... they experienced no significant increase at all. Instead, in the two weeks following the initial verbal jousts with the White House, Fox News' total day ratings virtually flatlined. Think about it. The unfolding controversy, which gobbled up untold hours and pages of news coverage as the Beltway press treated the dispute like a major news event (even though news consumers couldn't care less), and the hubbub barely moved the ratings needle one inch in Fox News' favor. So What Was MSNBC's Ratings?
JammieWearingFool —
Eric Boehlert rambles on endlessly over at Media Matters trying to debunk the fact that Fox News's ratings have gone up since the Obama White House declared war on them by saying, "Hey their ratings are always this high." There is a lot of circular logic involved and he is to be commended for writing such a lengthy article about nothing. I can only assume he is getting paid by the word and the holidays are approaching and he needed some more cash to replenish his tin foil supply. Another example of the Beltway press not letting the facts get in the way of a good story? It sure ...

Media Matters Questions Reports of Fox Ratings Spike
Liberal Values —
... I was not at all surprised to hear reports that the ratings for Fox had gone up after the Obama administration began criticizing their lack of journalistic integrity. Media Matters argues that the claims of increased ratings were not true. It is somehow appropriate that news about a fake news network also turns out to be a fake report which was hyped by the right wing blogosphere. ...

The state Supreme Court will appoint an interim justice of the peace to fill Bardwell’s position, Berry said, and a special election will be held next year to fill the position permanently. ... , though, does it seem like Murdoch has summarily given up on any attempt to make FOX News "balanced"? It's doubtful he will now since so many claim the fight with the White House has garnered FOX News a ratings boost, even though the validity of any such boost is dubious , at best. Instead, Murdoch will likely continue to rely on his reliable ratings machines like Sean Hannity and the suspiciously militaristic mottoes that grace his website such as "Forewarned is Forearmed." Together, Murdoch's friends at FOX can continue to push the Republican agenda as hard as they can ...
