So lemme get this straight: Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) advocates an increase in federal spending coupled with an increase in taxes, and John McCain criticizes those statements on the presidential campaign trail.
This, according to Rep. Frank, therefore means that John McCain is appealing to prejudice, because spending- and tax-increase advocate Frank is gay.
It's all quite simple.
