DOOOOOOOOM
pandagon.net - we are the public option — by Jesse Taylor After a few days of McCain’s gamble on negative ads, Barack Obama has been creeping steadily upwards in polling. The real question is, if McCain’s ads aren’t working, why isn’t Obama farther ahead?  Ergo, the ads must be working and Obama is doomed to uncomfortably lead the polls for the next couple of days, all the way to a tenuously large Electoral College victory.  I don’t know how he sleeps at night knowing more people don’t love him, but my guess is it’s all the ...

Catching Up On Polling

A Chequer-Board of Nights and Days — So let us note that while Gallup has Obama ahead by 6 points amongst registered voters , Pew's survey only has Obama up by 3 points and shows that McCain is consolidating support amongst members of the Republican base. And while Obama leads by eight points amongst registered voters in Pennsylvania , the lead shrinks to merely five when likely voters are surveyed. Pennsylvania, surprisingly, is in reach and Obama may be forced to spend more time and money than he thought he would have to spend in order to lock it down as a state in his column. It's still a ...

John McCain and Barack Obama not likely to get much of a veep bounceTop of the Ticket
Our cousins over at the Swamp ferreted out this nice detail from Gallup: Political writers apparently care an awful lot more about who John McCain and Barack Obama will pick as their running mates than you do. It's fairly new polling involved, since, as Gallup points out, the vice presidential running mate used to be picked at the convention. And no, they didn't just pick the guy in ...
