Gillespie responded to Gates's point that Bush "didn't go out of his way to make sure everybody spoke if they hadn't spoken up before" by claiming that Bush "did listen to everyone" and noting that "everybody has their own style." Gates's estimation of the two presidents' relative analytical tendencies (abilities?) didn't come up.
