Shame on Dershowitz

... against President Obama’s anti-Israel policies. But, I’ve wondered, where’s Alan Dershowitz been? Why doesn’t he speak out. Well now he has, and I wish that he’d remained silent. He answers “Has Obama turned on Israel?” with an emphatic “no.” ...
Has Obama Turned on Israel?

... At that, Hoenlein’s own COPMAJO President has distanced himself from Hoenlein’s charges. Liberal Jews are now caught in a bind of their own making after voting in droves for someone they thought they knew, but didn’t, when it came to US support of ally Israel. Dersh is abetting this dumbing down of American Jews by not speaking the truth about Obama. Hoenlein on the other hand is but getting no support from his alleged colleagues. Pity!

Obama Settlement Stance Draws Fire From All Directions
Politics on HuffingtonPost.com —
... However, writing in the Wall Street Journal Thursday, vocal Israel advocate and Harvard lawyer Alan Dershowitz notes the distinction between pro-Israel and pro-Netanyahu. He concludes that Obama's strong anti-settlement stance is actually quite aligned with the views of most Israelis and Israel supporters, writing: ...
Is Barack Obama Anti-Israel?

... yet he’s apparently willing to play code enforcement officer when some Israeli settler wants to builds an additional room on his house. He seems to have more affection for the PLO and Hamas – both terrorist organizations – than Israel, which is democratic and with which we have multiple points of affinity. [image] What gives? Particularly with American Jews who – as usual – voted overwhelmingly for the Democrat candidate. After first doing the obligatory grovel to Hope ‘n Change in today’s Wall Street Journal , Alan Dershowitz politely suggests – too politely in my opinion – ...
Dershowitz: Has Obama turned on Israel?
Israel Matzav —
... In Thursday's Wall Street Journal, Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz asks whether President Obama has turned on Israel . Many American supporters of Israel who voted for Barack Obama now suspect they may have been victims of a bait and switch. Jewish Americans voted overwhelmingly for Mr. Obama over John McCain in part because the Obama campaign went to great lengths to assure these voters that a President Obama would be supportive of Israel. This despite his friendships with rabidly anti-Israel characters like Rev. Jeremiah Wright and historian Rashid Khalidi. At the ...

BY MELANIE PHILLIPS, THE SPECTATOR
My criticisms here of the piece Alan Dershowitz wrote in the Wall Street Journal appear to be making some waves across the pond. Dershowitz has now written a lengthy defence of himself against me here. I had said that he had failed to address the most egregious aspects of Obama’s extreme hostility towards Israel, and that this was undoubtedly because, like most American Jews, he was incapable of admitting that a Democratic President could be so vicious towards it.
In his reply, Dershowitz ...
Alan Dershowitz, American Jews, and the Religion of Liberalism
American Thinker —
July 12, 2009 Alan Dershowitz, American Jews, and the Religion of Liberalism By Lauri B. Regan At a critical juncture in the formation of this country s Mideast policy, Alan Dershowitz has taken a public stand portraying Obama as a friend of Israel. Dershowitz recently stated in Frontpage Magazine that he will continue to give President Obama the benefit of the doubt. Dershowitz makes this assertion notwithstanding the abundant measures that the Obama administration has taken indicating that it has very little interest in maintaining the strong friendship that America and Israel have sustained throughout previous administrations. Dershowitz s ...

Bipartisan support for Israel? [image] In the JPost blog pages, Alan Dershowitz goes after Melanie Philips: Melanie Phillips has written a critique of me because I remain a Democrat and continue to support President Barack Obama, despite his recent statements regarding expansion of Israeli settlements and other matters relating to the Middle East conflict. Other conservative supporters of Israel have joined her in attacking me as well. See e.g., Jonathan Tobin . This is how she put it: But just like the majority of American Jews, getting on for 80 per cent of whom voted for Obama, he is a Democrat supporter who is ...
The Alan Dershowitz and Melanie Phillips Show: Jewish Fury Incarnate
Pajamas Media —
In their epic clash over the president's Israel policy, Dershowitz is right to give Obama the benefit of the doubt. [image] As we passed through late summer and Bibi Netanyahu endured a summit in London , the distinguished British journalist and broadcaster Melanie Phillips — known as “Mad Mel” to the left — took on Alan Dershowitz in a debate on Obama in the pages of FrontPageMag.com. I do not intend to go into a protracted discourse about the argument but will put the cat among the pigeons right here at the start: I think Dersho is right-on. The debate began when Melanie, a staunch anti-Obamaite, launched a challenge to Dershowitz after he ...

Pundits of all political persuasions have talked about how eloquently President Obama delivers a speech. No less a conservative than Charles Krauthammer has talked about President Obama’s speechmaking ability ad nauseum to the virtual exclusion of the content of President Obama’s speeches.
It’s time that the punditocracy stopped yapping about President Obama’s ability to read from a teleprompter. We The People don’t care that he tells whoppers with elegance. We The People want to know whether his policies will put us on a glidepath to prosperity and security. Thus far, they haven’t.
No less prominent a liberal that ...
