Now might be the time to cut them off at the knees, and one key player would ...

The “Reality-Based Community” Comes Through for Our Amusement Again
RedState: Conservative News and Community —
There are at least two amusing things about this post written by a Jonathan Zasloff over at Mark Kleiman’s place. The first is how eager the “Reality-Based Community” suddenly is to embrace the nuclear option. Despite the complete lack of any textual support for the notion that Art. I, Sec. 5 of the Constitution is not susceptible to filibuster, but Art. 2, Sec. 2 is, they’ve suddenly decided that both propositions are facially obvious to anyone who has really been paying attention like they have. These are the rules you fought so hard to keep, RBC; hope you enjoy them.
The second and more amusing tidbit is that the entire premise of this “Reality-Based” ...
The GOP's Four Corners: Nuke 'em
The Reality-Based Community —
[image] The GOP's Four Corners: Nuke 'em Rachel Maddow has had it with Republican obstructionism, and I can't really blame her. Obviously, the Franken-Coleman lawsuit is part of this strategy: simply spend enough time denying Franken the seat in order to make filibusters more effective. When Norm Coleman took the job as a lobbyist for the loathsome Republican Jewish Coalition , many saw it as his acknowledgement of a loss. It was nothing of the kind: essentially, it was a form of money laundering, paying Coleman to keep the lawsuit going and giving him an income in the process. If anything, the Senate GOP's strategy resembles North Carolina coach Dean Smith's old Four ...
Filibustering Franken
The Reality-Based Community —
[image] Filibustering Franken I endorse all of Mark's comments on the Specter switch except for #7. Blue Blogistan should be very clear on this principle: If the Minnesota Supreme Court rules that Franken has been legitimately elected, then a GOP filibuster to block his seating is unconstitutional, and President of the Senate Biden should so rule. Franken can and should be seated by a simple majority. Reasoning here : even more true than it was when I first wrote it, or when I wrote it again . There is simply no reason to back down from following clear Supreme Court precedent.
