Humane Society breaks tradition, endorses
Ben Smith's Blog —
The animal lovers' group goes with Obama, and seem to have been particularly turned off by Palin.
The choice for animals is especially clear now that Palin is in the mix. If Palin is put in a position to succeed McCain, it could mean rolling back decades of progress on animal issues.

... defending the welfare of animals from a Christian perspective. That's why I found it shocking that he lent his skills as a writer in penning Sarah Palin's acceptance speech at the Republican convention. The Humane Society's Legislative Fund has never endorsed a presidential candidate before, but because of Palin's horrifying record on animal cruelty, and contempt for conservation, they have decided to endorse Obama. We have no problem with the extinction of domestic animals. They are creations of human selective breeding." Sorry, but these people have a very radical agenda, and the fact that they have warmly endorsed Barack Obama provides yet another reason to vote against him. I'll take a pit bull in lipstick any day! And ...

Maybe Rush just felt the need to pick up the slack for President Obama’s ...
