... This article from Forbes is spot-on: A series of actions taken by the Obama administration have created an impression in Iran, the "Af-Pak" region, China and North Korea that Obama does not have the political will to retaliate decisively to acts that are detrimental to U.S. interests, and to international peace and security. Among such actions, one could cite: the soft policy toward Iran: the reluctance to articulate strongly U.S. determination to support the security interests of Israel; the ambivalent attitude toward Pakistan despite its continued support to anti-India ...

... That "not much" is the answer is pretty clear from this garbage by Bahukutumbi Raman at Forbes. North Korea has tested another nuclear device, we learn, because Obama is weak like Jimmy Carter. That Raman notes himself that North Korea pursued precisely the same strategy under the Bush administration doesn't dissuade him from this conclusion. Raman's policy recommendation? The US needs to be more supportive of Israel and India. That'll teach the North Koreans that we mean business, and how! ...

... It would be interesting to watch Mr. No Preconditions debate Mahmoud, wouldn’t it? I’m rather torn. I’m not sure who I would rather see get mopped up. I’d hate to see POTUS lose to a tinpot dictator, but, on the flip side, I wouldn’t mind seeing Barack Obama taken down a peg. He is not Jimmy Carter. It took Carter several years to “create the image of the U.S. as a confused and soft power.” Obama being able to do it within months is a record that no president will ever be able to touch. ...

May 26, 2009 Oh, he's not dead... not yet. During the U.S. Presidential primaries last year, I had expressed my misgivings that Barack Obama might turn out to be another Jimmy Carter, whose confused thinking and soft image paved the way for the success of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. Is Obama Another Jimmy Carter? The answer is not yet, I mean you really have to f*ck things up to even begin to earn the "as bad as Jimmah" label. He's trying, give it time..... ... ultimately gets to answer, a lot like that “Is Bush the Worst President Ever” one. But people keep taking a stab at it. Who can resist? The latest is from a former Indian intelligence officer, who says yes, but adds that its is not simply bad to encourage North Korea and Iran and pander to China and Pakistan. It can have angerous consequences if lesser powers … Israel, India, South Korea, Japan … are forced to do the dirty way what a great power might have handled more deftly. Forbes Re-Writes History
Newshoggers.com —
Commentary By Ron Beasley
Bahukutumbi Raman has good reason to dislike Jimmy Carter, he is after all a retired member of the Indian Intelligence service. It was under Carter's National Security Advisor, cold war hawk Zbigniew Brzezinski, that the US moved away from support for India to a relationship with Pakistan. But that does not give him an excuse for selective memory and re-writing history.

... President in '92
During his remarks this morning, President Obama pointed out that Sotomayor was appointed as a district court judge in 1992 by Republican George H. W. Bush. But a friend on Capitol Hill notes this bipartisan talking-point is empty. The following 1992 New York Law Journal article explains that Sotomayor was nominated as part of a compromise in which Democratic Senator Moynihan was allowed to recommend judges for two of the seven vacancies:
