Response to the Response

... Obama's speech was universally praised - even by Fox News. But the great hope of the Republican party did nothing less than a total crash and burn. Andrew Sullivan: Stylistically, he got better as he went along but there was, alas, a
slightly high-school debate team feel to the beginning. And there was a
patronizing feel to it as well - as if he were talking to
kindergartners - that made Obama's adult approach so much more
striking...The rest was boilerplate. And tired, exhausted, boilerplate. If the
GOP believes tax cuts - more tax cuts - are the ...

The Huffington Post | Full News Feed —
Our friends over at Buzzfeed make an interesting point: Bobby Jindal is Kenneth the page from NBC's "30 Rock." They noted that the blogosphere was atwitter last night with comparisons.
Andrew Sullivan found that if you closed your eyes last night during Jindal's response to Obama, you were sure to see sweet Kenneth Parcell's face float through your head. Sullivan went on to say that he "can barely count the number of emails making that observation."
Mattfraction on Twitter noted that "Within an hour of the speech, a Google search ...

Every year (with the exception of Jim Webb) someone is trotted out and forced to give the response, and it is at this point the political equivalent of throwing a virgin into a volcano. Giving the bayonet to the “dictatorship of relativism” since 2002 February 25, 2009 On hating Bobby Jindal Filed under: Jindal By Feddie ( Email ) @ 8:21 pm It’s not racism , Professor Althouse. Sully , Marshall , and their ilk cannot stand Jindal because he is a devout Catholic. These are nasty. mean-spirited, anti-Catholic bigots. It’s really that simple. Paul Jenkins: Worst Week Ever: Republicans Unhinged

... to Barack Obama's Congressional address. The best that can be said for Jindal's performance is that it channeled Kenneth The Page from 30 Rock, presumably not the objective, even for someone who willingly changed his name to "Bobby." But the past seven days have offered so many moments of breathtaking inanity by the GOP that our head spins at trying to organize them cohesively. With the country on the verge of being swallowed up in its entirety by the spiraling economy, Republicans obsessed over Obama's citizenship, gay people, pregnant women with HIV, helicopters, primary ...

Maybe websites did not have the technology to allow for comments back in 1909 when The Progressive supposedly started but we do have such technology in the 21st century so I suggest that your 100-year-old software may be due for an upgrade. Another frequent commenter, yellojkt, implied that I should have compared Gov. Jindal to Kenneth the Page on 30 Rock as he and a number of others did. I hope he won't take this the wrong way but I have to say I agree ...
