... That’s the advice from John Bolton, who explains on today’s Washington Post op-ed page that President Obama’s mullah-coaxing plans make less sense now than ever. It’s time to greenlight Israel: With Iran’s hard-line mullahs and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps unmistakably back in control, Israel’s decision of whether to use military force against Tehran’s nuclear weapons program is more urgent than ever. Iran’s nuclear threat was never in doubt during its presidential campaign, but the ...

WHY THE WEST MUST ENACT A BLOCKADE AGAINST IRAN - NOW!
THE ASTUTE BLOGGERS —
BOLTON/WAPO/VIA HOT AIR: "Accordingly, with no other timely option, the already compelling logic for an Israeli strike is nearly inexorable." WRONG: A BLOCKADE WOULD BE A VERY GOOD NEXT STEP. IT WOULD PUT ENORMOUS PRESSURE ON A REGIME WHICH IS ALREADY UNDER HUGE PRESSURE, AND IT MIGHT PROVOKE A RESPONSE WHICH WOULD MAKE AN ATTACK MORE ACCEPTABLE TO THE "INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY".. ...

The Reaction —
By Creature And John Bolton uses the Iranian uprising as an excuse to start bombing. What took him so long? According to Bolton, the presidential election fraud and the subsequent uprising have made the case for bombing crystal clear: since the Iranian people hate their leaders as much as we do, they won't mind so much being bombed by Israel with American made weapons. It's all so simple, really. Now, bring on the flowers and candy. ...

Allison Kilkenny: John Bolton Wants Israel to Attack Iran
Politics on HuffingtonPost.com —
With Iran's hard-line mullahs and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps unmistakably back in control, Israel's decision of whether to use military force against Tehran's nuclear weapons program is more urgent than ever.
Iran's nuclear threat was never in doubt during its presidential campaign, but the post-election resistance raised the possibility of some sort of regime change. That prospect seems lost for the near future or for at least as long as it will take Iran to finalize a deliverable nuclear weapons capability.

John Bolton: Bomb Bomb Bomb, Bomb Bomb Iran

... John Bolton says that Iranians' rejection of their rulers means now is as good a time as any for the Israelis to bomb Iran. I actually heard this argument bandied around last week by a friend who had heard it at a dinner with high-powered New York business and media types, but I couldn't really take it seriously. I guess I underestimated the Right once again. Is it any surprise that the man who ...

Otherwise, be prepared for an Iran with nuclear weapons, which some, including Obama advisers, believe could be contained and deterred. That is not a hypothesis we should seek to test in the real world. The cost of error could be fatal.

... as neighboring Sunni nations rallied to his side against the Shiites? Or would it have set off mass nuclear proliferation across the region as Sunni leaders confronted the prospect of being threatened by Iran or the guy who tried to annex Kuwait? It’s hard for me to imagine a scenario in which the region would be in better shape with a nuclear-armed Saddam lurking, but if any lefties want to try to convince me, have at it. Elsewhere in WaPo, John Bolton says it’s time for the IAF to attack Iran’s nuclear sites . I’d wait a bit longer in case Mousavi and the green revolution ...

Ace of Spades HQ —
John Bolton: Israel Should Bomb Iran's Nuke Facilities Israel's Submarine Force: Already On It, Hoss The Mustache of Silvery Justice speaks. Only those most theologically committed to negotiation still believe Iran will fully renounce its nuclear program. Unfortunately, the Obama administration has a "Plan B," which would allow Iran to have a "peaceful" civil nuclear power program while publicly "renouncing" the objective of nuclear weapons. Obama would define such an outcome as "success," even though in reality it would hardly be different from what ...

... The most recent and grossly unfair attack came from Vanity Fair magazine. The writer clearly had an unshakable point of view from the start and talked only to those who would criticize. For example, he personally asked me at event preceding the White House Correspondents Dinner if I would talk to him about Governor Palin. I agreed. He didn’t call. He didn’t email. He never once tried to get my take. I also know he never contacted campaign manager Rick Davis, or John McCain
