McCain's Vice President: Tim Pawlenty
I'm confident enough to put this up now, but willing to be wrong. Right now though, every sign, signal, and background chatter indicates John McCain will pick Tim Pawlenty, Minnesota's governor, as his running mate.

So, the campaign is leaking to Erick that Pawlenty is McCain's Vice President pick .... but, I really shouldn't oughtn't tell you that because ...

Bloggers Predicted McCain/Pawlenty in 2006
Wizbang — ... the Southwest quartet of Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada and the upper Midwest trio of Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin. In what turned out to be a very rough year for Republicans, Tim Pawlenty's reelection in the Minnesota Gubernatorial race, coupled with the 2008 GOP convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul and Minnesota's ten electoral votes, should elevate Governor Pawlenty to very near the top of the VP short list - irrespective of who the Republican nominee turns out to be. Erick Erickson earlier this evening wrote that "every sign, signal, and background chatter" ...

McCain's VP Name Game Continues
A Blog For All — Who's it going to be? Romney is out . Tim Pawlenty? In or out ? Out . Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin? In ? Out. She's on the outs with National Review to be sure, but is she still in the running . The short list keeps getting shorter, although no one is really saying who it would be. McCain did a nice head fake yesterday with luring Drudge and others into thinking that McCain would "leak" the nomination last night during the penultimate night for the DNC. It got people thinking about who it would be, and it was a tactically good move. ...

Romney is scheduled to be in Dayton, Ohio today, where "two senior McCain campaign officials confirm that John McCain will appear with his vice presidential pick," likely at around noon. There has been quite a bit of speculation recently surrounding Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, with reports that she was on her way to Dayton, but it seems that she is still in Alaska. Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, another leading contender, won't be in Dayton either, saying it's "a fair assumption" it's not ...
