Go to Minnesota John Lott has a scary piece on the Minnesota recount : When voters woke up on Wednesday morning after the election, Senator Norm Coleman led Al Franken by what seemed like a relatively comfortable 725 votes. By Wednesday night, that lead had shrunk to 477. By Thursday night, it was down to 336. By Friday, it was 239. Late Sunday night, the difference had gone down to just 221 -- a total change over 4 days of 504 votes. Amazingly, this all has occurred even though there hasnt even yet been a recount. Just local election officials correcting claimed typos in how ...

John Lott writes today about the Minnesota "pre-count". This all has occurred even though there hasn’t even yet been a recount. Just local election officials correcting claimed typos in how the numbers were reported. Counties will certify their results today, and their final results will be sent to the secretary of state by Friday. The actual recount won’t even start until November 19. Correcting these typos was claimed to add 435 votes to Franken and take 69 votes from Coleman. Corrections were posted in other races, ...

... Or, as Dr. John Lott explains in his latest column , Minnesota may avoid the distinction of being the latest poster state for voter fraud if elections officials can take control of the process quickly. John notes that the additional votes “discovered” for Al Franken against Norm Coleman seem suspicious, especially since they involve mainly three precincts out of over four thousand: Virtually all of Franken’s new votes came from just three out of 4130 precincts, and almost half the gain (246 votes) occurred in one precinct — Two Harbors, a small town north of Duluth along Lake ...

Fox News reports: "Minnesota is becoming to 2008 politics what Florida was in 2000 or Washington State in 2006 -- a real mess. The outcome will determine whether Democrats get 58 members of the U.S. Senate, giving them an effective filibuster-proof vote on many issues." Rosh On Fraud Mary-John Rosh-Lott, Jnr. is concerned about phony results in the Minnesota Senate race. To many, it just seems like too much of a coincidence that Minnesota's one tight race just happens to be the race with the most "corrected" votes by far. But the real travesty will be to start letting election officials divine voter's intent. If you want to discourage people from voting, election fraud is one sure way of doing it. And if you want to discourage people from taking you seriously, research fraud is one sure way of doing ...

Ballot Box Troubles: A Matter of Incompetence or Dishonesty?

... in Lac Qui Parle County. I haven’t heard of 100 new votes being added to Franken’s and Obama’s totals in Kandiyohi County.
That leads to another question: Are these problems a matter of incompetence? Or is it a matter of dishonesty? Or is it that the DFL doesn’t know how many votes it needs to manufacture to push Franken over the top? My hunch is that it’s D: all of the above.

Minnesota Ripe for Election Fraud
Virtually all of Franken’s new votes came from just three out of 4130 precincts, and almost half the gain (246 votes) occurred in one precinct -- Two Harbors, a small town north of Duluth along Lake Superior -- a heavily Democratic precinct where Obama received 64 percent of the vote. None of the other races had any changes in their vote totals in that precinct.
To put this change in perspective, that single precinct’s corrections accounted for a significantly larger net swing in votes between ...

... The Two Harbors Ward 1 dispute (that John Lott brought up yesterday) appears to be an input error. That's the first drop down that you see in the above graph. Given ...

... It’s common for vote totals to be adjusted slightly after the election to correct for any errors in reporting votes. Typically those errors will be reflected across the board for all candidates in the state.
But when you find “corrections” overwhelmingly favoring one candidate and coming from only a handful of voting precincts fraud is clearly suspected.

The StarTribune last week posted a note suggesting that John Lott's analysis (noted here) did not add up. It had entirely different numbers than John's analysis had had. I assumed John had seen it, and indeed he did. It turns out the data included in the StarTribune report held information on two precincts (Richfield W3 P1 and Alexandria W1 P2) that had not reported any presidential results at all. The StarTribune analysis tried to include these data to show that the changes in the Franken-Coleman race and in the Obama-McCain race were comparable. ...
