He had been sandwiched on the convention program last night between keynote speaker Mark Warner and the evening's much-anticipated climax, Hillary Clinton's speech, the Top of the Ticket notes. The crowd was there to hear Clinton, and a parade of speakers preceding her had failed to grab its full attention (including Warner). ...

Hit & Run
Not so long ago, Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer embodied the notion of a "libertarian Democrat"—pro-gun, anti-tax pols who just might have been the future of the Donkey Party. At last night's Democratic National Convention, Schweitzer gave a speech that was silent on gun rights and big on big government programs. It just might have made him a star. reason ...
This Ain’t the 2004 Convention —
Comments from Left Field
I want to make this dead clear. If you think this is going to be a repeat of the hands off 2004 convention, if you think that we’re in danger of repeating the same mistake the Kerry campaign made four years ago, you obviously didn’t watch Governor Brian Schweitzer’s speech last night.
Let me fix that for you.
