No One Ever Said 'Kill Him' About Obama

…at least, according to Patterico . Instead, the context indicates that one man advocated the killing of Bill Ayers , which, while hardly appropriate, does have a sense of karmic irony to it: “And, according to the New York Times, he [referring to Ayers -- P] was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, ‘launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and our U.S. Capitol,’” [Palin] continued. “Boooo!” the crowd repeated. “Kill him!” proposed one man in the audience. That is unambiguously a call to kill Ayers, not Obama. As TNR writer Michael ...

Nobody at that Palin rally yelled that they wanted to kill Obama
Jim Treacher's Blog That Is on the Internet —
Nobody at that Palin rally yelled that they wanted to kill Obama Patterico explains. They were yelling it about the person Palin had just mentioned: William Ayers. Which still isn't nice, no matter how many people the Weather Underground terrorized and killed, no matter how much ugly anti-American rhetoric they spewed. But it doesn't require an investigation by the Secret Service. That is, assuming Ayers doesn't still have his hand up the small of Obama's back. But wait, that means the great Dana Milbank... ...

... writes at Political Animal, suggesting Obama’s surprise that McCain didn’t “say it to my face” in the last debate was a strategic move on Obama’s part. No one ever actually yelled “kill him!” about Obama at a McCain rally, Patterico suggests at Patterico’s Pontifications: instead, the widely reported exclamation was aimed at Ayers. The moment—originally reported a week ago along with other seemingly aggressive remarks from McCain supporters—came after Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) was talking about Ayers at a rally, and according to Patterico, that’s who the angry supporter ...
McCain Calling For Hit?
Politics Daily —
... the source, though, let's consider the facts as well. By now you've certainly heard the eternally injured left scream about Obama's death threat at a Palin rally. Woe is me Democrats can be counted on for two things under all circumstances, to bleat about their own persecution, and to be ten times more vicious in their assaults on Republicans than even their own false claims about the right. In this case, it is no different. Unlike actual violence against McCain voters, this story is simply not so. As is obvious from the transcript, the person in Palin's audience ...

I was in the middle of a leisurely look at this morning’s sales papers, and as it is every week, a Parade magazine was included with the sales papers and coupons. This week’s magazine featured a “best and worst of 2008″ year in review of sorts, and I was disappointed but not surprised to see that not only did their campaign highs and lows include all the “highs” for Obama (except for one - McCain’s concession speech, of course) but one of the “lows” for McCain included a now-debunked myth about people allegedly yelling “kill him” and “terrorist” at the mention of Obama’s name at ...
