In the battle of anonymous sources, it seems that the Paterson crew wins. Caroline Kennedy said she has withdrawn her name from consideration for the Senate seat being vacated by Hillary Clinton, in a statement released early Thursday morning. "I informed Governor Paterson today that for personal reasons I am withdrawing my name from consideration for the United States Senate," the official statement read. She could've given a heads-up to her "Kennedy family advisors".
