Obama’s “Pet Goat” Moment: Absolute Disrespect And Apathy In Obama’s Rushed Ft. Hood Speech
Pat Dollard | Young Americans —
Commentary:
We still don’t know what was behind the killings at Ft. Hood this afternoon, in which 11 soldiers and the killer died, but President Obama’s rushed press conference was surprising in its flippancy nonetheless. Before he got to the issue on everyone’s mind — namely the deaths of Americans in uniform — the president gave a “shout-out” to government bureaucrats gathered for a previously scheduled conference at the Interior Department, complete with appreciative chuckles. He treated the event like a pep rally rather than a tragic occasion ...

... Nor is it entirely surprising that some would choose to make hay over the president for his admittedly clumsy “shout out” to a group of government bureaucrats before turning to weightier matters. Partisan reflexes are equally difficult to moderate, even as the bodies of heroes lie cooling. ...
Right-Wingers: “Political Correctness” to Blame for Ft. Hood Shootings

... , there are no mentions of “kooks” or “isolated incidents” and they are quite happily jumping to score political points — most notably, by blaming the tragedy on “political correctness.” ...
