Anotherway to silence talk radio
Betsy's Page —
The American Thinker has a scary article up about how the real threat to talk radio is not the Fairness Doctrine, but something that few people have heard of called localism. It all sounds very nice and innocent - a FCC rule that would require broadcasters to devote more time to community interests. Then it would set up special boards at each station to oversee its content and make sure that they comply with the rules. And we've seen that liberals know how to organize on the community level. They could then submit complaints about their local radio station's programming and gum ...

Team Obama's tactics of misinformation throughout the campaign to fool them into submission to and belief in Obama's "hope and belief" mantra; they will recall the center-right blogoshere's frequent and consistent warnings of Obama's history and allegiances to Marxist principles and associations, particularly those related to Saul Alinsky's teachings, and have seen Obama's plans to decare war on Conservative talk radio coming.

Obama's Likely Avenue of Attack on Talk Radio: "Localism"
Ace of Spades HQ —
Obama's Likely Avenue of Attack on Talk Radio: "Localism" To be perfectly honest, I don't exactly understand how the current rules of "localism" will be changed to threaten conservative talk radio. I suppose the idea is that the local minority communities, supposedly underserved by radio, will be mandated a greater voice. Which means their own (non-performing) shows, which in turn means it's too expensive to run conservative talk shows, which in turn means that AM stations turn to Top 40 again. All I know is that every time I get into a cab, the minority cab-driver has NPR ...

Obama is a community organizer par excellence. He has built a huge grassroots organization which is committed to supporting him. He will enable the Unions to similarly grow with the view to the support he will expect from them. He will similarly support teachers and Hispanics and other group he can mobilize. Look forward to amnesty.
