"Only Supply Is Dampening the Run on Guns"
Ace of Spades HQ — "Only Supply Is Dampening the Run on Guns" So writes Confederate Yankee . My best buddy works the gun case at a sports and outdoors retailer. He told me that what started as a trickle just after election day has become a flood. Plenty of ammo, but they can't keep guns in stock. I'm still not sure what's fueling this frenzy. Did people buy guns like crazy right after Clinton was elected? Does the Supreme Court's recent firearm jurisprudence holding that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to firearms reassure anyone?

Gun Sales: Demand Is Up, Supply Is Down
Pat Dollard | Young Americans — (Confederate Yankee) Only Supply is Dampening The Run On Guns “I could sell a hundred ARs an hour, if I had them.” That was the word from the man behind the counter at my local gun shop yesterday afternoon when I stopped in. As if to put an exclaimation point on his claim, two men added their names to an ever-growing waiting list to purchase AR-15 carbines within minutes of my entering the store. Two months ago, the first two racks of rifles to great you as you entered Fuquay Gun & Gold would be ...

A Run on Guns
RIGHTWINGSPARKLEConfederate Yankee talks about the rush of gun buyers recently. When I was shopping for my gun last weekend, the gun shop owner said the same thing. He had never seen anything like it. Some might say this is irrational fear. Gabriel at Ace's asks this: Does the Supreme Court's recent firearm jurisprudence holding that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to firearms reassure anyone? No, it doesn't. Because there was only ONE vote assuring us of that protection. Given that Obama is likely to have to appoint at least one, if ...

“Post-partisanship! Unity! Hope’n'Change! Come join the Utopia!”
protein wisdom — Great marketing strategy, lousy sales pitch : Local news reports from other gun shops across the country seem to indicate that a run on military-style semi-automatics and ammunition of all types may continue for months as long-time shooters and new gun purchasers stock up in preparation for what many expect to be one of the most divisive, anti-gun federal governments in years. I wonder if any of the ostentatiously outspoken “civil libertarians” who’ve spent the last few years protesting the NSA’s data mining program will be quite so vociferous should the feds move to create a ...

BREAKING: Conservatives React Sensibly to Election Losses, Eschew Acting Like Loons
Firedoglake — ... they were pushing. I'm even more excited that these ideas may even include something more substantial than buying lots and lots of guns in order to prepare for Obama's Marxist Tyranny, although, clearly, this guy certainly qualifies as one of Charen's "Thoughtful Warriors": ...
