So Much For CPAC
Riehl World View —
... I figured this was the deal. Having been there last year I was looking forward to it. Guess I won't have to take the Metro in now as I was never invited by CPAC or anyone else. And after my email to ACU I doubt I ever will be again, which isn't all bad, I suppose. Honestly I doubt I would have added anything that special to any coverage. Event blogging isn't really my thing anyway for most kinds of events. ...
The obligatory “Hot Air’s revenue stream goes up in smoke” post
Hot Air » Top Picks —
... it kept a lot of righty bloggers going during the election, and now circumstances have changed. Business is business, red in tooth and claw. I just hope there’s a conservative entrepreneur out there willing to snap up some of the talent that’s now on the market. Are there any new sites around flush with cash and looking to establish a presence in the blogosphere that could use full-time bloggers and the built-in audiences that would come with them? Hmmm. Exit question via Atlas Shrugs : That PJM-sponsored blogger’s row at CPAC is going to be a little awkward, huh? ...
Why Stupid People Shouldn't Blog
Confederate Yankee —
Why Stupid People Shouldn't Blog Let me type this s l o w l y so that certain people who don't seem to be able to read with any level of detail can follow along. The Pajamas Media advertising network responsible for those ads you generally ignore see in the sidebar over there to your right is going the way of the digital dodo on March 31. Pajamas Media , the portal site that features news and opinion, is not closing. The blogfather, Glenn Reynolds, will still be found at http://pajamasmedia.com/instapundit/ Only the advertising network, ...
If I'm Paying a5 Busks a Month to See Glenn Reynolds Videos, That Fucker Had Better Be Topless
Whiskey Fire —
... You do have to admire this line, though: "PJM’s new hope is PJTV, a pay video site. Where you can pay to watch
Glenn and Helen Reynolds. This is not unlike asking people to pay to be
punched in the face." Because the inevitable conclusion is that if even God-bothering dingalings like Mr. Hog were able to spot the flaws in the Pajamas Media "business model," what was everyone else's major malfunction? I mean, Pam Gellar has an excuse -- she's a mental patient: ...
PJMelodrama
Riehl World View —
... I have my doubts. But it isn't my money coming or going, so who cares. They certainly did nothing to manage their PR on the business side effectively over time. Now this a month out from CPAC. So it seems a commercial video company (PJ-TV) with little interest in, or involvement with independent blogs has sponsored bloggers row there and at least appears to have had some input into who was invited and who wasn't. That doesn't sound like sponsorship. It sounds like a scam. ...
We have a winner!
Lawyers, Guns and Money —
This is pretty awesome: I thought PJM was going to rival AP, UPI, Reuters. Finally, a news portal of citizen bloggers and journalists that would counter the Pali stringers and left wing biased journalists of the news gathering agencies . . . . Can you imagine if I were given 20% of what was invested in PJM? I am one person. No assistants, no interns, no editors, nuthin. I would have had bands of free men roving the world reporting into Atlas central. TV, video, newsletters, action alerts, campaign headquarters -- serious ass whuppin.Like ...
The Superbowl, and Schadenfreude Too
Agitprop: Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Propaganda —
... Instaputz:
And so it ends. Pajamas Media, a laughingstock even in the embryonic stage, is no more. Putz, one of the founders, is already attempting to distance himself from the operation, despite spending more than three years driving most its traffic:
I don’t have much to do with the PJM business side...
But what will those bright lights at Protein Wisdom, The Anchoress, Atlas Juggs, and other rightblogs do now that they only thing left is PJTV ...
Something Under the Business Model is Drooling
Gates of Vienna —
... Atlas Shrugs has a good description of what went wrong. She also suggests, in her inimitable way, that she could have done it better with one hand tied behind her back. I think she might be right. ...
BREAKING: In Shocking Development, Free Market, Conservatism Discovered Incompatible
Firedoglake —
... But all of this was, and remains, from an empirical perspective, absolute horseshit. You would have had to be a complete and total mental patient to have ever believed a word of it: Exhibit A. ...
