AnnieQ Regarding the selection of Sarah Palin as McCain's VP and her lack of foreign policy experience; isn't it logical to assume that if something happens to McCain during his presidency that she will do as Obama did(who doesn't have foreign policy experience either) and choose as HER VP someone who has that experience? Obama chose Biden to help him with his weakness in foreign policy and Palin could do the same in choosing someone experienced in foreign policy for her VP if something should happen to McCain during his presidency.

Andrew Sullivan has this snippet: An Ambers reader writes: I thought you might like to know that under the heading of "Sarah Palin on Foreign Policy" at the On The Issues site for her, this is what's listed:
"No issue stance yet recorded by OnTheIssues.org." Sully is right about this - it's inconceivable for McCain to pick Palin and actually mean what he keeps saying about America being at war and he takes it more seriously than Obama does. This really does ...

... MSNBC has a good pro/con rundown.
Some reax from around the blogosphere:
Kos sees McCain abandoning the “experience” line of attack and banking on the religious right to drag his across the finish line.
Perr sees it as a pander that puts the age issue front and center and eliminates the “experience” attack.
Marc Ambinder notes Palin’s, um, light resumé on national security.
Benen says it reeks of desperation.
