When I heard the story of the attack on the Mccain campaign worker this morning on the radio my first thought was "hmmmm, sounds made-up to me".  Just a gut instinct, I guess.  Sad that all the news agencies jumped all over the story and put it out as true.  What a pathetic woman.  This election is so bizarre I can't believe it.  You just can't make this stuff up........

Well it's sad to see this thing (deception) happen. I support McCain/Palin, but sure as hell don't want assistance of this calibre and deceptive nature.

The campaign will be won or lost by either side based on the facts, or so it should be anyway.

Ms. Todd needs to take a closer look in the mirror and instead of a B she should notice the large L on her forehead instead.

It looks like I may (I repeat: may) have been was wrong
doubleplusundead — It looks like I may (I repeat: may) have been was wrong Ashley Todd's story is starting to unravel totally made up . Why was I so quick to side with her so unequivocally ? I have a friend who travels around the country inspecting power plants (or something like that). One morning, after working a night shift he came back to his hotel, and someone was waiting for him. He was raped at knife point. Afterward, he told me that he just went on like nothing had happened for two days. By the time that he came to grips with what happened and sought medical ...

Report: Police saying Todd lied
doubleplusundead — Report: Police saying Todd lied Police sources are saying she confessed , and will be brought up on charges. I noted my skepticism yesterday, something just didn't smell right to me. Admittedly I was running on gut instinct. That was my initial reaction, but I think the picture sealed it for me. The fact that the B wasn't so much carved, as scratched, the fact that she said it was a large knife rang alarms, but something about it felt off. I think it was the way her eyes and mouth looked. When you've been beaten up, you have a very sad, sullen look on your face. I don't ...

McCain volunteer recants
Ben Smith's BlogThe McCain volunteer who said she was mugged and scarred in Pittsburgh now says she made the story up. KDKA reports: This afternoon, a Pittsburgh police commander told KDKA Investigator Marty Griffin that Todd confessed to making up the story. The commander added that Todd will face charges; but police have not commented on what those charges will be. Though Drudge pushed the story hard, both campaigns were, by today, handling it with care. Whatever her motives, it's hard to think of a more deliberately inflammatory stunt.

Goddamn Liar
pandagon.net - we are the public option — by Jesse Taylor I initially posted on what an obvious hoax this hoax of a story was yesterday afternoon, then took down the post.  Mainly, it was because despite the fact the story seemed obviously made up, there was about a .75% chance that it wasn’t, and I wasn’t quite confident.  Sometimes 99.25% just isn’t enough. What Ashley Todd Did Wrong
