Top conservatives back Blackwell
More proof liberals have completely lost their mind, still, over Sarah Palin. And that, of course, is a good thing.
Senate recount is complete; Franken up by 225
This is why Repubs continue to fail and why conservatives need to get active and vocal.
I guess this means they don't have the money to buy our ports anymore?

Al Franken held an unofficial lead of 225 votes over incumbent Republican Sen. Norm Coleman, according to a Minneapolis Star-Tribune tally of the officials’ count of the absentee ballots. “With the recount complete, focus immediately shifted to the Minnesota Supreme Court, which continued to consider a request from the Coleman campaign to alter the process and add more absentee ballots to be reconsidered.” Eric Kleefeld notes that “Minnesota law is unique in that it prohibits the issuing of an official certificate of election until the legal challenges are all resolved.” ...

Comments from Left Field —
As of last night it seems Al Franken, author of such books as the famous “Rush Limbaugh Is A Big Fat Idiot“, has unofficially won by the Minnesota Senatorial election recount by 225 votes. Why unofficially? Simple, incumbent Norm Coleman is already crying foul and promising lawsuits should he be declared the official loser.
Coleman’s attorneys said that depending on what the court decides, they would be ready to file a legal action contesting the recount results as early as Tuesday. Recount attorney Fritz Knaak said that he believed 300 to 400 ballots would go Coleman’s way in a contest, including through the addition of absentee ballots so far ...

*The latest from Gaza… Two more senior Hamas terrorists are dead . And this: 35 Palestinians killed by Islamists, 75 shot in legs in the past week “to ensure they don’t help Israel.” Allahpundit’s full coverage is here . The clock is ticking . *Stuart Smalley is up 225 in the Minnesota Senate race recount. *Reid + Blago + Cornyn = Juicy Senate fracas! According to a Chicago Sun-Times report Saturday, Reid called Blagojevich on Dec. 3 and urged him to tap either state Veteran Affairs Director Tammy Duckworth or state Attorney General Lisa Madigan, both Democrats, to fill the seat. Blagojevich was arrested less than a week later on corruption charges that included ...

Franken started the day with an unofficial lead of 49 votes. He achieved a net gain of 176 votes on Saturday.
For some time it has seemed quite likely that when the counting was done that Franken would win.

The Reaction —
By Michael J.W. Stickings It's hard to believe that we're still talking about the 2008 elections, what with Obama soon to be inaugurated, an economic stimulus package on the horizon (and coming not a moment too soon), and a war ongoing in Gaza, but, alas, democracy needs to be allowed to take whatever long and majestic course it requires. And it looks like the long and not-always-majestic process in Minnesota will soon be over: DFLer Al Franken won an impressive share Saturday of what may be the last ballots tallied in the U.S. Senate recount, boosting his unofficial lead over Sen. ...
Coleman Going Down Real Ugly As Al Franken Wins Minnesota Senate Race
DownWithTyranny! —
Minnesota's sleazy ex-Senator Norm Coleman Some say that had Karl Rove not arranged for a tragic airplane "accident" in 2002, Norm Coleman would never have been a U.S. senator. Whether you believe that or not, if you've followed Coleman's Senate career you'll probably agree that one term was more than enough for this sleazy and ethically-challenged political hack. (I followed his career, ...
