Talking Points Memo —
... During the Senate Finance Committee hearing just now (which we're liveblogging here), Sen. Kent Conrad (D-ND) seemed to go farther than he has in the past in opposing a robust public option provision. His line previously had been that public option just doesn't have the votes in the Senate, but now he's saying ...

1:03 p.m.: Now that we know Snowe is voting yes, and Lincoln is voting yes, we know that at least two Democrats can vote no from the left and the bill will still move forward. Not predicting anything. Just noting that Rockefeller and Wyden can both vote however they want without imperiling the legislation.

Snowe wasn't especially subtle on this point today, reminding her committee colleagues, "My vote today does not forecast what my vote will ...

Game Changing Vote On Health Care
Angry Bear —
... the bill. The MSM will lead with Snowe, but the real story to follow is that last sentence. Neither Conrad nor Lincoln left the fold. Meaning that at first glance there is no chance they would vote to keep the merged bill from at least coming to the floor for debate (which was a possibility if they had defected on the SFC bill itself) and I would think little chance they would back a filibuster on final passage. TPM liveblogged the vote here: LIVEBLOG: Senate Finance Committee Votes On Health Care Reform Bill I'll be following this ...
