Senate Committee on Commerce, Science & Transportation, opposition to the nominations appeared to be tepid, with few Republicans even bothering to show up. The only Senator to question either of the nominees twice, was Alaska Democrat Mark Begich, who queried Lubchenco about climate change and fisheries issues in a friendly way.
