Mr. B. Sanders is absolutely right; the caption on the flower pot in Mr. Bush’s portrait destined for the Smithsonian must be accurate. Everyone knows that 9/11 did not provoke the Iraq war. Mr. Bush started the Iraq war because, according to him, he did not want Saddam Hussein to use the weapons of mass destruction against us some day and he and his administration vouched that Saddam had these weapons. Other reasons Mr. Bush proffered for starting this war were to get rid of Saddam and build a democracy in Iraq. With regard to these reasons, it is disingenuous now to substitute 9/11 for the reason for starting the Iraq war especially since the 9/11 terrorists came from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan, and not from Iraq. I hope that Mr. Bush's Christian morals and ethics will propel him to get the artist of this plaque to state the true reasons for starting the Iraq war. When historical facts are concerned, it is important to leave the truth for progeny.
