The White House has chosen photojournalist Pete Souza to be its top photographer. Souza held the same post under Ronald Reagan. Image galleries from Souza's official website: The Rise of Barack Obama, The Road to Kabul, and Portrait of a President. Normally, I'm skeptical of Reagan retreads, but Souza's work speaks for itself. I admire the simplicity of his compositions. He's very good at abstracting away visual clutter in order to let the basic outlines of his subjects dominate the composition. Souza's website doesn't allow me to link to ...
