Palin-Bashing by McCain Staffers
Patterico's Pontifications —
Interesting stuff at Hot Air about McCain staffers taking potshots at Sarah Palin in the big Blame Game.
I have no idea what actually happened. I know only this: some of the McCain staffers were taking potshots at Palin while the campaign was still going on. I don’t get paid to blog full-time, and when I first heard about this, I didn’t have time to comment on my appalled reaction. But I’ll do so now.
Let’s assume that every nasty thing they’re saying about Sarah Palin is true. It’s still unbelievable that ...

... dished last night about rumors that Palin was even more unprepared than we thought, like not knowing that Africa was a continent rather than a country or being clueless about which countries were in NAFTA: Cameron continued the assault on Bill O’Reilly’s show, continuing to use the word “knowledgability” to describe what she lacked: sss In “ ...
The reports from inside the McCain campaign are not pretty.
Althouse —
Carl Cameron is on fire, spilling the dirt on Sarah Palin (and reducing Bill O'Reilly to near silence): Via Allahpundit, who comments: Unlike the first clip, this one does corroborate some of the details in the Newsweek report — sort of. Newsweek claims Palin appeared to McCain’s aides in a bath towel; Cameron says it’s a bathrobe. It’s not clear if he’s lifting that story from the piece or if he got it from a source firsthand; if the latter, then there’s either one very determined person leaking to multiple news outlets or … ...
The McCain Campaign Finds its Scapegoat

Surprise!
Given the level of debate over Sarah Palin among conservatives, this is no surprise. I fully expected writers such as David Frum, Kathleen Parker, Christopher Buckley and Peggy Noonan to go full-bore on Palin after Tuesday's loss. I did not expect the level of insta-recrimination we're seeing from the staffers of the McCain campaign. Malkin is right - classless cowards, indeed.
McCain lost for a very simple reason - he fought the battle on the terms the media and the Obama campaign had set for him. Too many issues were off-limits or were ...
Lack of discipline
Silent Running —
... within the McCain campaign following the convention involving Sarah Palin - it’s extremely disheartening to see, because it indicates to me a serious lack of professional discipline from the team John McCain surrounded himself with. Ultimate responsibility for this, and he’ll probably actually eventually admit this, if my reading of the man’s character is correct, lies with John McCain himself - because it is the leader that shapes the tone of a group dynamic, by the people he hires, and how he oversees and guides them. This doesn’t absolve the staffers involved, as a fair ...

A Few Things You'd Have to Believe to Believe What McCain Staffers Say About Sarah Palin
Weekly Standard Blog —
Let's add some context to the Carl Cameron and Newsweek airing of rumors from anonymous McCain/Palin staffers. The most controversial claims, all of which come without names attached because the purveyors are apparently determined to stick around to undermine future campaigns and candidates, are that Palin didn't know that Africa was a continent as opposed to a country, and that she didn't know who the members of NAFTA were.
Let's start with NAFTA. If folks want to believe Gov. Sarah Palin did not know even the most basic facts about NAFTA, they ...
