www.powerlineblog.com — When the polls closed Tuesday evening, Minnesota's Secretary of State's office showed that Norm Coleman had a 725-vote win in his closely contested race against Al Franken. By the next morning, however, Coleman's victory was already shrinking. As various precincts and county auditors have ...

Minnesota learns the lesson of Florida: Own the choke points

Sigh. Once again we have an election in which the difference in vote totals is within the margin of error for counting votes, the United States Senate race in Minnesota. There is the whiff of fraud . Last night at around 7:30, a precinct in Mountain Iron, St. Louis County, mysteriously updated its vote total to add 100 new votes--all 100 for Barack Obama and Al Franken. Mountain Iron uses optical scanning, so the Coleman campaign asked for a copy of the tape documenting the ballots cast on election night. St. Louis County responded by providing a tape that includes the ...
Evidence of Election Fraud Mounts in Minnesota

... was decided in a political and legal circus culminating in the Bush v Gore Supreme Court decision, claims of election fraud have formed a key foundation of political debate on the ideological left. Alas, it appears that fiction may have become reality in Minnesota. Only this time, the villains are not nefarious Republican computer hackers sabotaging Diebold voting machine software, but rather more traditional corruption among state and local electioneering officials. Powerline reports on some odd irregularities in the process of “updating” votes — ...

... anyway (via Power Line ): Just as Secretary of State Mark Ritchie was explaining to reporters the recount process in one of the narrowest elections in Minnesota history, an aide rushed in with news: Pine County’s Partridge Township had revised its vote total upward — another 100 votes for Democratic candidate Al Franken, putting him within .011 percentage points of Republican U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman. The reason for the change? Exhausted county officials had accidentally entered 24 for Franken instead of 124 when the county’s final votes were tallied at 5:25 Wednesday morning. ...

Surveillance video: Al Franken "finds" another 1,000 votes
Doug Ross @ Journal —
Is it just me, or does Al Franken appear to be stealing a Minnesota Senate seat from Norm Coleman ? Eh, it's not just me . [image] Powerline's three-part series ( Part 1 , Part 2 and Part 3 ) is a must-read. Richard Baehr adds: Al Franken and a highly partisan Secertary of State are collaborating to steal the Senate race in Minnesota. Though an official recount has not yet begun, in the days since the election, new Franken votes have appeared in a few counties, and Norm Coleman votes have disappeared. Much like landslide Lyndon Johnson's ...

... The only thing that's particularly clear from Hinderaker's desperate and ill-composed screed over at his Republicanist blog, is that he has no clue what he's talking about. Being the generous fellow that I am, however, and more interested in helping to assure the person who actually received the most votes gets to be the winner of the election than I am in any particular candidate "winning" it, allow me to help him with a few of his misconceptions about the U.S. Senate race in MN, and about elections in general... ...

The tape is dated November 2nd ... as in not election day. The county board of elections claims they cannot produce the election night tape. One hundred mysterious, unaccounted for votes, all mysteriously uniform in supporting the Democrat party line. They've since provided additional "explanations" which are even more questionable. I'd call that an irregularity. I guess Franken doesn't. ...
