Obama hiding behind Daley’s skirts?
Hot Air » Top Picks —
... John Kass has an explanation for Stanley Kurtz for why he couldn’t access what should be public records at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Kurtz apparently didn’t read the name of the building in which the files from the Chicago Annenberg Challenge reside. It’s the Richard Daley Library, and when a Daley gets involved in a Chicago issue, openness flies right back out the door: The relationship between the ambitious Obama and the unrepentant Ayers is a subject that excites Republicans, who haven’t really thwacked that pinata as hard as they might. It really irritates ...

... really thwacked that pinata as hard as they might. It really irritates Obama and his political champion, Chicago's sovereign lord, Mayor Richard M. Daley.
"This is a public entity," Kurtz told us Wednesday. "I don't understand how confidentiality of the donor would be an issue."
You don't understand, Mr. Kurtz? Allow me to explain. The secret is hidden in the name of the library:
The Richard J. Daley Library.

Confederate Yankee —
... to him aside. It is those same business-as-usual allies in Chicago that are now protecting Obama from deeper scrutiny of his 21-year relationship with the Ayers family, specifically his involvement in the Chicago Annenberg Challenge with infamous domestic terrorist Bill Ayers. At the moment the internal documents for the Chicago Annenberg Challenge are in a special collection at the Richard J. Daley Library. Think they'll ever see the light of day? As the Chicago Tribune's John Kass put it : The relationship between the ambitious Obama and the unrepentant Ayers is a subject ...

Update: Still No Movement on Ayers-Obama Annenberg Papers
NewsBusters.org - Exposing Liberal Media Bias —
In my post on Tuesday, I wrote about Stanley Kurtz's efforts to access the Annenberg Challenge files housed at the University of Illinois-Chicago. These files documented an educational initiative started by Bill Ayers and chaired by Barack Obama.
At that point, only AP writer Pete Yost had written anything about the story. Additionally, U of I rep Bill Burton issued a press release. Since that time, there has been no movement from the university and coverage by the MSM has been minimal, though it is finally beginning to pick up. To wit, as reported in a blog post at the Chicago Tribune, Chicago mayor, Richard Daley, declined to intervene in the matter ...

Illegal Fundraising On Obama’s Website
Stop The ACLU —
Palestinians running a phone bank for Obama , connections to extremely shady dealings with an un-indicted American terrorist and now someone giving away pizza coupons in exchange for donations? When does the corruption stop? Add in the story Rick Moran from Right Wing Nut House broke (thanks to yours truly getting a heads up in an email) about extremely illegal fundraising from a Nigerian group IN Nigeria and you are seeing a shade of the corruption this country will face with Hussein in the White House.

Obama, Ayers and...Republicans?
Weekly Standard Blog —
I don't make a practice of posting excerpts of press releases from the presidential campaigns, but this is so funny it's worth making an exception.
For some reason, the usually smart Obama campaign has decided to fight back against attempts to link their candidate to William Ayers, the Weather Underground terrorist who said in 2001 that he wished he had been a more effective bomber of American targets. The Ayers-Obama relationship is the subject of an ad from the American Issues Project, an anti-Obama group, which suggests that Obama and Ayers are friends. In response, the Obama campaign has launched a counter-ad and has written to the Justice Department to intervene. ...
