Barack Obama Says America Needs A Civilian National Security Force
La Shawn Barber's Corner —
…and the media haven’t reported it. What the…?
Every time I hear Barack Obama speak, I’m reminded of the expression, “Like shooting fish in a barrel.” He is the embodiment of it.
His ideas are so incongruous and on-the-fly, I wonder why mainstream media aren’t picking his statements apart. Yes, I know it’s too easy. There’s no challenge in it. Yes, I know mainstream media liberals want him to win. But news organizations report news, and a Democratic candidate advocating a civilian quasi-military security force is news.
On July 2, Obama gave a speech to an audience of what ...
Obama's dangerous fantasy
Power Line —
According to this report on WorldNetDaily, Barack Obama delivered a speech in which he said: We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded. The speech took place in Colorado Springs on July 2. Press accounts of the speech did not include this startling remark, perhaps because it was not contained in the prepared text that the campaign distributed. But this YouTube of the event does (the quote comes between minute 16 and minute 17): Hugh Hewitt ...
Media cleans Obama’s speeches
Rathergate.com —
When Barack Obama says something stupid in a speech, the media is more than happy to pretend the words were never spoken. In the July 2 speech in Colorado Springs, Obama insisted the U.S. “cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set.” Campaign officials have declined to return any of a series of WND telephone calls over several days requesting comment. Nor have they posted a transcript of the speech on their website. The lines are not included in a transcript of the prepared remarks published by the Denver Post and Wall Street Journal. According to the transcript, Obama said: We’ll send more college ...
Funding Barack Obama's "civilian national security force."--
The Volokh Conspiracy —
A. What Obama said. In Barack Obama’s July 2, 2008 speech calling America to national service, Obama called for “a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded” as our military. This has prompted some in the blogosphere to raise the specter of a huge new domestic paramilitary organization. Others suggest that he may have been talking about our “current non-military security agencies - FBI, CIA, NSA, DEA, DHS, etc.” I think that both interpretations are probably wrong. If you listen to the whole speech –- or even the couple minutes before his security force proposal -- I think that it’s reasonably clear that ...
Obama’s Schutzstaffel?
Pat Dollard | Young Americans —
While the Obama campaign, and it’s offshoots in the MSM and political talking head pool like to deem everything and anything said negative about Sen. Obama as “racist” code words, may I just touch upon some code words being slipped under the radar of the media and/or the lazy American voter who will just hold their nose to enter the voting booth and vote for this man out of ‘White Guilt’ and/or party-line politics?

GOP congressman: Obama wants to go ‘down the road’ of Hitler.
Think Progress —
In July, Barack Obama proposed a “civilian national security force,” an idea backed by President Bush and intended to expand AmeriCorps and other national service programs. But today in an interview with the AP, Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA) compared the idea to a Gestapo-like force:
“That’s exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany and it’s exactly what the Soviet Union did,” Broun said. “When he’s proposing to have a national security force that’s answering to him, that is as strong as the U.S. military, he’s showing me signs of being ...
Apparently, FDR was as bad as Hitler
Nitpicker —
So, during a speech on July 2nd, Barack Obama made the mistake of saying something thoughtful without considering how it would be taken by the crazies. The crazies, after all, do have a voice--a leading voice, in fact, on the right. ...
Georgia Congressman Backs Away From Obama Hitler Comparison
The Moderate Voice —
The update is almost better than the original story. The AJC headlines, Rep. Broun regrets linking Obama, Hitler. Well, duh!
Georgia Congressman Paul Broun Tuesday backed away from comparing the policies of President-elect Obama to those of Hitler or a Marxist dictator. …
“I regret putting it that way,” Broun told WGAC radio in Augusta. “I apologize to anyone who has taken offense at that.”
Broun acknowledged that he called Obama a Marxist at a Rotary Club meeting in Augusta last week. In an Associated Press interview Monday night, he went further, charging that an Obama campaign proposal for a civilian ...

What is going on here?

Email Friend | Print Article | | Share Share August 07, 2009 What is going on here? By MJ Motley Alright enough already! Will someone please turn the lights back on and roll the credits for this week's episode of the Twilight Zone. First we have the brazenly Orwellian directive from the Office of Health Reform/Ministry of Truth to contact our friendly snitchboard operator to report any "fishy" communications from our neighbors/political extremists. Then from Pamela Geller's Atlas Shrugs I learn that the National Guard is now looking for a few good internment/resettlement specialists ? Really? Internment of whom? I'm moving ...
Re: White House releases school speech

[image] The White House has released a copy of the prepared remarks that President Barack Obama plans to broadcast to school children across the country on Tuesday. In the remarks, Obama says he has often talked about the responsibilities of teachers, parents and school administrators to help children do well in school. But Obama says students need to take responsibility for their own education: Maybe you could be a good writer – maybe even good enough to write a book or articles in a newspaper – but you might not know it until you write a paper for your English class. Maybe you could be an innovator or an inventor – maybe even good enough to come up with the next iPhone or a ...
