Weird new talking point from the McCain campaign. They're now saying that Sarah Palin, or perhaps we should now be calling her General Palin, is "Commander in Chief" of the Alaska National Guard that is fighting in Iraq. I'm sure the governor is the de jure chief of the state's national guard, but to imply that she's somehow the equivalent of the Commander in Chief of the US military, direct Alaska's forces in the fight against Al Qaeda, running through war plans and launching rocket attacks, is just laughable. I learned something interesting from the O's Jeff Mapes over the weekend: The top two mouthpieces for John McCain, communications director Jill Hazelbaker and national spokesman Tucker Bounds, are both University of Oregon alums and considered rising stars by Oregon Republicans.
So, when I saw Tucker pop up on CNN yesterday, I decided to watch and see how this Oregonian would handle the tough questions of the day.

The McCain campaign canceled a scheduled CNN appearance by John McCain on the show hosted by the world's most inane and annoying interviewer, Larry King. They did so because of a rude interview by Dale Alma Campbell Brown a/k/a Campbell Brown with McCain spokesman Tucker Bound.
