Unreal!... Dems Ban Religious Free Speech On College Campuses In Stimulus Bill
Gateway Pundit —
Now that ought to create jobs! Democrats are banning religious free speech on public campuses in their Stimulus boondoggle. Today, U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina) made the following statement after Democrats voted 43-54 against his amendment to strike language from the economic stimulus bill that discriminates against students of faith. Senator DeMint’s amendment would have eliminated a provision that bans any university or college receiving funds to renovate buildings, from allowing “sectarian instruction” or “religious worship” within the facility. This would in effect ...

The Politico is reporting:
As new jobless numbers Thursday testified to further deterioration in the economy, Obama’s impatience showed through during a talk at the House Democrats’ retreat in Williamsburg, Va., Thursday night, when he demanded prompt action and accused his Republican critics of wanting to return “to the same policies that for the ...
Maddow Omits Chunk of Floor Speech, Uses Bad Analogy to Attack Sen. Jim DeMint's Defense of Religion
NewsBusters.org - Exposing Liberal Media Bias —
On a Friday night, where can you look to find a little anti-religious media bias? No other than MSNBC's "Rachel Maddow Show." In her "Ms. Information" segment, Maddow engaged in a rant about Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., opposition to language in the stimulus bill that could forbid the practice of religion ...
Religious Discrimination in Stimulus Bill
Wizbang —
I have a challenge for all of you folks who are so enamored with this spendulus monstrosity. Explain to me how making it illegal for religious organizations or individuals to hold services or meetings on college campuses that are improved or renovated with funds from this bill is stimulative. There, tucked cleanly inside, deep beneath the fat of all the social spending are two sentences that make it legal to discriminate against religion. So, if this passes groups such as Campus Crusade for Christ, Athletes in Action and other Christian - and let's not forget Jewish, Muslim, and Hindu - groups would no longer be able to hold any religious activities inside a public building that ...
Did You Know … The Spending Bill Discriminates Against Students Of Faith On University Campuses? - With Video
Pat Dollard | Young Americans —
Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina) tried the end of last week to strike just a ‘phrase/sentence’ from the Bill … but Democrats voted 43-54 against his amendment.
After the defeat of his amendment Sen. DeMint said this:
“This is a direct attack on students of faith, and I’m outraged Democrats are using an economic stimulus bill to promote discrimination,” said Senator DeMint. “Democrats should be ashamed of themselves for siding with the ACLU over millions of students of faith. These students simply want equal access to public facilities, which is their constitutional right. This hostility toward religion must ...
Inside Jim DeMint's Alternative Universe of Political Discourse
TPM Election Central —
Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) gave a sharp response last night to a new Democratic National Committee attack ad against him, over his statement that Republicans can make health care into President Obama's "Waterloo," and that it would "break him." Demint said: "It's disappointing that President Obama has lowered the discourse of this important debate with false personal attacks," DeMint said in a statement." (Emphasis ours.)
So on that subject, let's look at DeMint's own contributions to the political discourse -- let's see what his idea of "raising" it has been over this past year.
• In January, DeMint said that the way to stop ...
