Colmes Compares McCain's Infidelity To Edwards' And A Firestorm Erupts
News Hounds —
Big props to Alan Colmes for pointing out the similarities between John Edwards' infidelity and John McCain's. After soundly denouncing Edwards as unworthy of public office because he broke his marriage vows to an ailing wife, none of the conservatives could come up with a decent explanation about why McCain’s similar behavior was any less despicable. Sean Hannity was so flustered that he repeatedly tried to interrupt Colmes and carried the argument over to the next segment. More props to Colmes for refusing to back down. With video.
In an unbalanced panel, the three conservatives (two guests plus Hannity) worked themselves into a self-righteous lather of ...

Big props to Alan Colmes for pointing out the similarities between John Edwards' infidelity and John McCain's and asking why Edwards is unfit for public office as a result but McCain is not. In the interim he's proved himself to be a reliable family man once again. When he discovered he was in love with another woman (Cindy) he rightfully ...

The Daily Dish | By Andrew Sullivan —
A lively exchange on Fox News. Sean Hannity's head explodes, which is always good television at the thought that the same standards applied to Democrats should apply to Republicans. The meltdown happens around the 3:20 mark. Hannity also says that the Vietnamese "did not break [McCain's] spirit." Actually, they did, using the enhanced interrogation techniques Hannity approves of when used by Americans. McCain attempted suicide and made a taped confession of crimes he didn't commit after torture was inflicted on him. The torture techniques included beating, stress positions, dietary manipulation, withholding of medical care and solitary ...

* Russians aren’t exactly rushing to go home: “Russian officials said Thursday that the Georgian government will not regain control over two breakaway provinces that are at the center of a week-long military conflict, as the Kremlin issued an uncompromising response to U.S. and Western threats over its military incursion deep into the territory of its tiny neighbor.”
* On a related note: “Georgia’s president said Thursday that a column of Russian tanks and other vehicles was moving toward the country’s second-largest city, and that Russian forces already control a third ...
