Gov. Palin: CinC of the Alaska National Guard? You bet
Sister Toldjah — For the last week, The Usual Suspects have tried to belittle every aspect of Gov. Sarah Palin’s political life and, sadly, her personal life as well. On the political front, one of the most pointed criticisms about her has been in response to the claim made by McCain campaign staffers and surrogates that she is the CIC of the Alaska National Guard. Predictable liberel blogs like the HuffPo have led the ridiculing of this claim by pointing to information that is incomplete, by referencing half truths, and in some cases just by flat out lying. Last night on Greta Van Susteren’s show on Fox, Major ...

Governor Palin As Commander In Chief Of Alaskan National Guard
RedState: Conservative News and Community — It Is Serious Experience Some in the elite media have belittled Governor Palin's role as commander in chief of the Alaskan National Guard. Greta Van Susteren went and got the facts about Governor Palin's performance as head of Alaska's National Guard from Major General Craig E. Campbell. Watch the interview: That interview was more than enough to convince Jennifer Rubin that Governor Palin's role as commander of the Alaskan National Guard adds more gravitas to the Governor's experience: I confess I thought the “head of the National Guard” argument was a weak ...

Heh
Blue Crab Boulevard — Heh I can’t recall ever linking to No Quarter, Larry Johnson’s blog. For a time, Johnson was a darling of the far left, now he’s a die hard Hillary supporter who has run some, shall we say, questionable “scoops.” He’s also no longer the darling of the left, but that’s beside the point. Since a commenter here already linked to a video of Sarah Palin going all rock and roll with an M-4 carbine, I figured this was worth linking . One thing that strikes me as a shooter: Palin is not faking it here. She honestly knows how to handle that weapon (and as a shooter, I’m ticked that I haven’t had that chance!). The juxtaposition with the video of the late, ...

Alaska National Guard Commander Praises Sarah Palin's Performance as Commander in Chief
Hyscience — So much for the "enought experience to be Commander in Chief" issue!

Sarah Palin as Commander-in-Chief of the Alaska National Guard
Patterico's Pontifications — I have to say, I found the “Commander in Chief of the National Guard” argument to be laughable — just like the “Alaska borders Russia” argument. My thinking was: why not just admit that she has no genuine foreign policy experience — like virtually every other Governor who ever tried to be President or Vice-President. But this post by Beldar, and the accompanying video (embedded below) have me thinking twice. I’m still not sold on the argument. But go ahead and tell me why this guy is wrong. Here’s the video:

Separating Palin Fact From Palin Fiction
Pajamas Media — The complete (but still growing) list of Palin rumors: good, bad, and fishy. [image] Whether it’s really a Chinese curse or not, you can’t say we don’t live in interesting times. Two weeks ago, I was reporting from the Democratic National Convention; the Obama bounce looked solid, and on Thursday night, following the Mile High Annunciation, things were looking pretty grim for the Grumpy Old Man and the GOP.  Of course, by Friday morning, things were looking rather different — Sarah Palin was announced as the vice presidential choice, political junkies were seeing their chiropractors about their whiplash injuries, and suddenly a new fresh face was in a free-fire zone. ...
