Health and Human Services nominee Tom Daschle has withdrawn his nomination amid a scandal over failure to pay taxes and money made from health care companies.
Andrea Mitchell of NBC News reports that Daschle told her, "I read the New York Times this morning and I realized that I can't pass health care if I am too much of a distraction ... I called the president this morning."
