You know, I was far more shocked that Rick Warren recited the Shema than I was by the obvious nervousness that led to both Justice Roberts and President Obama messing up the oath of office a little bit. Remember, one just became President, and the other is swearing in a President for the first time.
I might also add that they are both doing this in front of a world-wide audience. I know the oath of office because it is very similar to the oath an immigrant takes upon becoming a citizen. I had to take my oath in front of maybe 30 people and I still had a mild mess up. I cannot imagine doing this in front of the world with the pressure of history judging your every breath.
