McCain’s Eleventh Hour Attack Hits Obama For Having The Same Stance As McCain
Comments from Left Field —
One of the reasons why McCain’s attacks during this election cycle have continued to fall short has been because every time McCain throws a stone, it’s been from inside a glass house. Bill Ayers was funded by Republicans and allies of John McCain. Rashid Khalidi may have been Obama’s professorial colleague, but John McCain gave the Palestinian professor a half million dollars. John McCain accuses Obama of being a socialist, but if Obama’s a socialist, McCain is only two or three percent less socialist than Obama.
And now McCain and Palin have taken to attacking Obama on his stance on coal, which, as the Jed Report points out, is ...
Ohio's GOP Senator: McCain "Will Put Coal Out Of Business"
Daily Kos —
On Sunday, John McCain launched the final attack of his campaign, a fraudulent assault on Barack Obama that serves as a fitting reminder of the fundamental dishonesty not only of his own campaign, but also of the dishonesty of his allies in the right-wing propaganda establishment: Matt Drudge and FOX News. All you need to know to understand the video is that the Drudge, FOX, and the McCain campaign joined forces with Newsbusters to push a story that the San Francisco Chronicle had concealed an eleven month old recording that supposedly contained devastating audio of Barack Obama proposing to bankrupt the entire coal industry. Not only was ...
Coal pushback
Ben Smith's Blog —
Jed Lewison, Obama's steadfast blogospheric ally, pushes back on the coal attacks that are leading Drudge today, finding a Republican senator accusing McCain of threatening to destroy the coal industry.
The bottom line on the issue seems to be that Obama and McCain both favor caps that would make it impossible to build new coal plants with current technology, but (depending on who you ask) plausible with as-yet-absent future technology.
McCain Is Against Coal

McCain Is Against Coal You know. That looks to me like a McCain dirty trick. Bringing out the charge with barely enough time for Obama to respond.
