McCain housing doubts hit by Dems
The Swamp —

Democrats have a new ad in which they ridicule Sen. John McCain for not knowing how many houses he owns. The Democratic National Committee give us some people-on-the-street interviews in which people say, not surprisingly, they know how many homes they have. Or don't have.
If you're part of the campaign team for the all-but-official Republican presidential nominee, you have to be worried that these sorts of ads could play out for weeks and really change the way voters see your candidate.
If the DNC and Sen. Barack Obama keep ...

The McCain Dungeons & Dragons gang fails its saving throw: Group to spend $2.8 million on anti-Obama ad By JIM KUHNHENN – 32 minutes ago WASHINGTON (AP) — A conservative nonprofit group with a past link to Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign wants to spend $2.8 million on an ad questioning Democrat Barack Obama's relationship to a founder of the 1960s radical group Weather Underground. New DNC ad: How many homes do you own? posted at 11:20 am on August 22, 2008 by Allahpundit Send to a Friend | printer-friendly Picture the response ad that’s coming. Opening line: “The Democratic Party would never nominate a candidate who owns multiple homes. Would they?” Cut to photos of mansion after mansion, each tagged with its property value and synced to the sound of cash registers: $4.9 million, $6.6 million, $9.1 million. Grand total: $29 million , more than twice what ol’ Moneybags McCain’s properties are worth. Nail it down with a graphic citing the 2004 net worth financial disclosure — ...
DNC Smells Blood With McCain House Gaffe
Politics on HuffingtonPost.com —
The DNC is keeping the heat on John McCain over his admission that he didn't know how many houses he owns. The committee is hosting a news conference Friday morning outside the Senator's Arlington condo, shooting out a media advisory that reads: "McCain lives at 'most enviable address in Virginia,' while middle-class families face economic downturn."
Meanwhile, aides to the DNC walked Washington D.C. to create a man-on-the-street video, asking interviewees if they can remember how many houses they own.
Clearly Democrats, including the Obama campaign, smell ...
Democrats: McCain Owns Too Many Homes
Say Anything —
I think there’s a basic political divide in America between people who look at a rich person and are happy to live in a country where so much success is possible and people who look at a rich person and think: Who does he think he is?
With their latest attack ad on John McCain the Democrats are making it clear which side of that divide their party is on.
The funny thing here is that we’re all supposed to be upset about John McCain’s multiple homes and forget, apparently, that Democrats are pretty rich ...

The Web on the Candidates
The Age of Instant Response Dawns: In the period between breakfast and dinner yesterday, John McCain's inability to total up the number of homes he and his wife Cindy own went from a story on Politico.com to a full blown campaign meme. The flames were fed by "Seven," a 30-second ad whipped together by the Obama campaign's press team. The spot has since garnered a startling half a million views on YouTube. Compounding the response: creative content thrown together by third ...

New, ridiculous DNC ad focusing on the 'how many homes do you have' issue. They better come up with something better than this, or they'll all be called back in from recess. It's also a little silly when, after all, John Edwards' 102 acre spread could alone hold 100 homes, and Mr. Teresa Heinz also has quite a few homes, worth even more than the McCains. But hypocrisy is the liberal stock-in-trade, isn't it?
