Obama praised Lee for exercising restraint in dealing with provocations from the North. Both leaders agreed to respond to the launch by registering a firm protest with the United Nations. We've ...

NoKo missile, UN Security Council both duds

NoKo missile, UN Security Council both duds posted at 8:47 am on April 6, 2009 by Ed Morrissey Send to a Friend | Share on Facebook | printer-friendly In the end, maybe it was better to have North Korea demonstrate its ineptitude at rocket science. According to every source but Pyongyang, the latest version of the Taepodong-2 had as much success as its predecessor in reaching orbit: none . The failure undermines yet again the inability of North Korea to mount a legitimate threat against the US, but it wasn’t the only display of impotence this weekend: North Korea failed in its highly vaunted effort to fire a satellite into orbit, military and ...
KUMBAYA: OBAMA'S N. KOREA RESPONSE
THE ASTUTE BLOGGERS —
Fox News, regarding the North Korean launch: North Korea, rejecting international criticism, launched a rocket late Saturday night in what could be a step toward putting a nuclear warhead on a missile capable of reaching the U.S. and beyond. President Obama called the launch — which defied Washington, Tokyo and others who suspect it was a cover for a test of its long-range missile technology — a move that threatens the security of nations "near and far." Obama condemned North Korea for threatening the peace and stability of nations "near and far." The U.S. and its allies vowed to press for ...

"Team America" Is Not A Documentary (language advisory) Is it? North Korea warned the U.N. Security Council on Tuesday it would take "strong steps" if the 15-nation body took any action in response to the launch. On Wednesday, the Communist-ruled country gathered its top party and military officials for a celebration of the launch broadcast on its state TV and monitored in Seoul. The reclusive state has threatened to boycott six-nation nuclear disarmament talks and restart a plant that makes bomb-grade plutonium. It also warned on Wednesday of military action if anyone tried to retrieve debris from the rocket. [...] The North's KCNA news agency quoted a military spokesman as ...
Nork nukes
TigerHawk —
In testing a second nuclear weapon, the North Koreans have indicated that it does not matter to them who is in the White House, or what resolutions are passed by the U.N., and that Kim Jong Il will continue to do pretty much whatever he wants. No sanctions, no harsh words, and no angry letters will have much of an effect. As AP reported ...

So what does Hans Brix have to say about this?

So what does Hans Brix have to say about this? The Ronery One fired two more short range missiles . My guess is that they're running out of food, so they're launching missiles with the hopes of getting some food aid out of the US and whoever else in exchange for laying low until they need more. I wonder if the UN will send a strongly or sternly worded letter this time? Posted by: doubleplusundead at 10:05 AM | Comments (3) | Add Comment Post contains 71 words, total size 1 kb.

Team Obama and the UN Security Council passed another toothless resolution later Sunday. North Korea responded today by launching two more short-range missiles. ...

North Korean Fires Seven Missiles In Defiance
A Blog For All —
You have to hand it to the North Koreans. They certainly know how to throw a tantrum when people's attentions are cast elsewhere . The North Koreans had been warning that they would fire missiles in the direction of Hawaii, and while they did fire seven missiles, none were long range missiles with the capacity to hit Hawaii. The launches, which came two days after North Korea fired four short-range cruise missiles, will likely further escalate tensions in the region as the U.S. tries to muster support for tough enforcement of the latest U.N. Security Council resolution imposed on the communist regime for its May nuclear test. A senior State Department official told FOX News ...
