The New York Post pointed out yesterday that David Letterman never brought up John McCain dissing him for Katie Couric, during the "CBS Evening News" anchor's appearance on Wednesday's show.
So last night, Letterman called up Couric to discuss the matter. who said she "had no idea he was booked on your show."
"Dave, I would have said, by all means, go do Dave's show," Couric said.
"We had no guests," Letterman said later. "We had to talk to Keith Olbermann."

Turns out old Dave got so focused on making fun of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin that he forgot to ask Couric about how Republican presidential candidate John McCain happened to be on Katie's news show, choosing to stand up Letterman's guest invite at the last minute earlier in the fall.
