Man Arrested At Obama Rally For Wearing McCain/Palin T-Shirt?
Say Anything —
I always hate to second guess the cops in these situations. Even video doesn’t always tell the full story, and usually at these rallies cops are in a difficult enough position as is, but this guy certainly doesn’t seem to have done anything wrong to warrant arrest.
The cameraman says that the guy refused to leave the rally because it’s his first amendment right to wear his t-shirt on a public street during a public rally. And, frankly, I think he’s right. Over the last eight years we’ve seen left-wing protesters carry signs accusing ...
Man Arrested in Philly for Wearing a McCain T-Shirt
Gates of Vienna —
The video below is very disturbing. A man wearing a McCain/Palin T-shirt wandered into a post-election celebration in Philadelphia for Barack Obama, and was arrested. The ostensible charge was that he was drunk and disorderly, but watch the video and see what you think. The chanting and booing of the crowd is particularly ominous: ...

From home of the free to the world of Marxism: Obama kool-aid drinkers in Philadelphia chant with joy as a man is arrested for attempting to exercis his First Amendment rights(HT - Atlas Shrugs): ):
On November 4, 2008 just hours after the presidential election victory of Barack H. Obama, thousands of Philadelphians streamed into the streets to cheer for their champion. Legions of Obama supporters formed iron ranks mostly of joy but when one man dared to have a differing opinion by wearing a McCain/Palin '08 t-shirt police officers threatened him with arrest and eventually did so ...
Payback time?
TigerHawk —
For years, thuggish cops arrested civil rights protesters and leftist agitators because of the content of their speech. That was bad, but not, it seems, so bad that Barack Obama's supporters will object when it goes the other way. The question, of course, is whether this video is an accurate depiction of the event, or a cleverly edited distortion. Did the arrested dude do anything other than waltz into the rally wearing the McCain shirt? Was the cameraman an accomplice? And why are the rude people slamming the video's YouTube comments ...
Dissent: The Highest Form of Patriotism
QandO —
Ah. Well. That didn’t take long... From the cops’ point of view, it was easier to just arrest they guy, than allow him to start a riot with his intentionally inflammatory T-shirt, with it’s hateful message of "McCain - Palin" written across the front.

McCain T-shirt gets man arrested. "A man wearing a McCain-Palin T-shirt during a Philadelphia celebration on election night was arrested, cuffed and stuffed into a police cruiser, and supporters said it was for no more than wearing the endorsement of the GOP nominees for president and vice-president. Although the man protested that he didn't want to cause any trouble, officers manhandled and arrested him, the video posted on YouTube shows. Philadelphia Police Sgt. Ray Evers told WND the man, whose name was not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. "He was ...

So. We’ve gone from “dissent being the highest form of patriotism” to “sorry, but we’re going to have to arrest you for your own safety — otherwise all these tolerant folk from the party of peace are likely to beat you to death with traffic cones and rocks.”
