Prices are jumping.
Prices were up 5.6 percent from a year ago, the sharpest year-over-year rise since 5.7 percent in January 1991. That was also well above the 5.1 percent increase that economists had forecast.
Energy prices rose 4 percent in July after a 6.6 percent June gain and were up 29.3 percent on a year-over-year basis. Food costs rose 0.9 percent following a 0.8 ...

A reader just sent me this video attack ad he made about John McCain (the video is below). It's brutal. I could easily imagine the Republicans making an ad like this about Obama, and it would go viral across the country, and the media would rebroadcast it a thousand times, Swift Boat style, until it was imprinted in the head of every American voter. I'm pretty sure that if we did something like this, if a pro-Obama organization made a video like this about McCain, the Democrats would be roundly denounced and we'd spend every day between now and the election telling America that we really do think McCain is the greatest hero America has ever ...
