Mr. Obama- You can't end wars, they are won or lost
Ace of Spades HQ — Mr. Obama- You can't end wars, they are won or lost My biggest fear about a President Obama was that he has a totally flawed view of what to do about our two ongoing wars. He was spectacularly clueless about what to do in Iraq and had we followed his bad advice we would have lost there. His continual demand that we "end" that war is symptomatic of his misunderstanding of the gravity of having US troops on a battlefield. It is just this simple Mr. Wannabe Commander in Chief, and I say wannabe because while you hold the title you haven't earned it or the trust of the troops yet. The first SF team room I walked into had a sign over the Captain's desk that said "Shut up sir, ...

The Jawa Report — February 09, 2009 Mr. Obama - Wars Don't End, They Are Won Or Lost "Don't You Dare Use Our Troops to Make A Political Gesture And Cover Your Ass On Campaign Promises" h/t AOSHq By Stable Hand at February 9, 2009 05:10 PM | | l digg this

Obama's War?
Ace of Spades HQ — Obama's War? President Obama has now taken ownership of the war in Afghanistan and stepped fully into his role as Commander in Chief. In his first such action as president, Obama ordered an additional 17,000 combat troops to Afghanistan. The first thing I want to do is call BS on my headline. It was wrong when the anti folks on the left talked about W's war, Iraq and Afghanistan are both America's wars and have been from the start. It was disgraceful for them to act that way and I will fight any attempt to do that to President Obama. Unlike many of the Born Again Ass Clowns Americans who have just discovered they can love and respect ...

The Return of Cut & Run- Afghan Exit Strategy
Ace of Spades HQ — The Return of Cut & Run- Afghan Exit Strategy We are about to enter an information battle almost identical to the one we fought about Iraq in 2006 & 2007. The cries then were that Iraq was lost and we should leave as soon as possible. They came from Harry Reid and Barack Obama in the Senate and Nancy Pelosi and John Murtha in the House among others. They were echoed and amplified by the media and led to a very pitched argument about whether to reinforce our new counterinsurgency strategy or to cut & run. Thankfully the arguments of Gen. Petraeus and the fortitude of President Bush prevailed and instead of defeat at the hands of al Qaeda and Iranian proxies, we won. Now we ...

Powerful words from the homefront
Ace of Spades HQ — Powerful words from the homefront The brother and father of a Marine fighting the war in Afghanistan have some solid advice for our politically-challenged Commander in Chief. As family members of a Marine deployed in Afghanistan, we know the importance of timely decisions in the heat of battle--indecision in the field puts troops at risk and leads to casualties. Likewise, the president's indecision about the next steps in Afghanistan is placing the overall mission and the troops on the ground at risk. Announcing his counter-insurgency strategy for Afghanistan this past March, President Obama said, "If the Afghan government falls to the Taliban or allows al-Qaeda ...

Smartest guy in the room on Afghanistan
Ace of Spades HQ — Smartest guy in the room on Afghanistan If this is true then just about all the worst fears we had about Obama as Commander in Chief are coming true. WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama does not plan to accept any of the Afghanistan war options presented by his national security team, pushing instead for revisions to clarify how and when U.S. troops would turn over responsibility to the Afghan government, a senior administration official said Wednesday. He has already had the advice of his entire military chain of command with a near unanimous call for for reinforcements to move to the strategy that won in Iraq. We have watched as he has heard from the deep wisdom of ...
