It was probably just a flub, but there’s a larger point here. When politicians like Pelosi start getting hysterical, and start making outrageous claims, it’s usually because they want to rush through some bit of legislation or policy without a lot of public scrutiny.
In this instance, it’s the stimulus bill. Something Democrats really don’t want to have hanging out there as a target for Republicans and conservatives. They’d rather just hurry their big, fat spending ...
