The Mayor of Detroit, Kwame Kilpatrick, was sent to jail today for violating travel restrictions that are a condition of his being free on bond as he awaits trial on eight counts of perjury and other felonies. The travel restrictions were tightened after Mayor Kilpatrick was accused of assaulting a sheriff's deputy who served a subpoena on him. Mayor Kilpatrick is a superdelegate to the Democratic National Convention. In May 2007, Kilpatrick received this glowing endorsement from Barack Obama, who called him a "great mayor" who is doing an "outstanding job." We can't judge Obama on his record, because he doesn't have one. Most people won't judge him on his associations, alarming as these are, because his enablers in the media refuse to report on them. But we can still judge him on his judgment. For example, he dismissed the remarkable Sarah Palin as the uh uh uh no-account mayor of a dinky town that doesn't matter. In contrast, Detroit's Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, a Democrat superdelegate, was praised by the Obamessiah as a "great mayor" who has been "doing an outstanding job."

Took them long enough. Notice how the Times tries to portray Obama's attackers as racist. Then there's this clanger: "He said the group’s intention was to show Mr. Obama’s affiliations — although Mr. Obama and Mr. Kilpatrick were never known to be close. " That's going to be news for both men as Obama calls him a "friend and colleague" in this video.
