News — Obama: 'When I Was a Senator' Barack Obama may be looking a little too far into the future. During an interview Tuesday on CNN on the government response to Hurricane Gustav, Obama talked about "one of the pledges I made when I was a senator and one of the pledges I intend to keep as president." The video is being the Republican National Committee as part of the committee's "Barack Obama Audacity Watch."
