Obama-care visualized in Legos
Hyscience —
Via Jonah Goldberg - comparing Obama'-style healthcare reform to the state of Georgia, using Massachusetts' healthcare as a model for Obamacare: Much higher cost - much longer wait time. >
Let's all hope that our representatives and senators actually read the bill before signing it. ...

Explaining Obamacare Via Legos
RedState: Conservative News and Community —
Praise Mitt Romney. Three years ago, the former Massachusetts Governor had the inadvertent good sense to create the “universal” health-care program that the White House and Congress now want to inflict on the entire country. It is proving to be instructive, as Mr. Romney’s foresight previews what President Obama, Max Baucus, Ted Kennedy and Pete Stark are cooking up for everyone else.

Health Care: It’s Time To Talk
Dr. Melissa Clouthier —
I haven’t blogged obsessively about health care, though I could. I’ve avoided it mainly because it’s my every day life and it’s boring, even to me, and people have short attention spans. Now, it’s time to pay attention.
There is one thing you should know, yea two things that should make your decision: One, we simply cannot afford government-run health care. Period. That idea should be the foundation of any plan you see. If a plan involves the government disbursing even one penny, know it is a plan that is unworkable because the Fed already lacks funds. Two, doctors and patients already hate government-run health care. Think VA, Medicaid and ...

Talking Healthcare
The Next Right —
The Right is floundering in the healthcare “reform” debate. It’s complicated, but it need not be. How do you make the water cooler case? Tell ‘em “before we let them do anything stupid, we could fix healthcare in 5 easy steps”:
Let people buy health insurance across state lines. I live in North Carolina. If folks in my state could buy insurance in Idaho, we would cut our premium almost in half. New Yorkers could reduce premiums by about 2/3 buying in other states. Everyone would have access to the lowest rates in the country. Competition would bring costs way down. Why won’t ...
Mass. Wait Times
Classical Values —
Mass. Wait Times Can you believe that the Massachusetts health care "miracle" was cooked up by a Republican? Praise Mitt Romney. Three years ago, the former Massachusetts Governor had the inadvertent good sense to create the "universal" health-care program that the White House and Congress now want to inflict on the entire country. It is proving to be instructive, as Mr. Romney's foresight previews what President Obama, Max Baucus, Ted Kennedy and Pete Stark are cooking up for everyone else. In Massachusetts's latest crisis, Governor Deval Patrick and his Democratic colleagues are starting to move down the path that government health plans always follow when spending ...
17,000 new primary care physicians needed even before Obamacare
Hyscience —
For a preview of wait time to see a physician, you need only look to Boston, Massachusetts where the average wait time is 63 days (compared to 17 days in Miami). And as Dick Morris points out, the reason, of course, has much to do with the "health-care reform initiative" passed in 2006 in Massachusetts upon which Obamacare is modeled: Bloomberg reported that "as many as half of doctors in the state have closed their practices to new patients, forcing many of the newly insured to turn to emergency rooms for care."
Alan Goroll, a professor at Harvard Medical School said that "the primary lesson of health-care reform in Massachusetts is that you ...
Harvard Medical School Dean: ObamaCare Will “Accelerate” Spending & “Do Little To Improve Quality”
Flopping Aces —
Why would the wait times be this long you ask? Well, because the amount of doctors needed to serve would be huge and the supply just isn’t there…just look to Massachusetts:
Joseph Stubbs, President of the American College of Physicians — the second largest doctors’ group in the country — confirms that “the supply of doctors just won’t be there” for the 30 million new patients Barack Obama wants to cover. Noting that the doctor shortage is “already a catastrophic crisis,” Stubbs said that underserved areas in the U.S. ...
