Josh Mandel faces a nattering nay Bob
Power Line —
Joel Mowbray has previously reported for us on Ohio state representative Josh Mandel in "Star on the rise." Given that he's a Republican in a substantially Democratic district in the Cleveland area, he faces a difficult challenge. When he won the seat two years ago, he knocked on 20,000 doors. Following his election he served a consequential term in the Ohio House of Representatives and also answered the call from the Marines to return to duty for a tour in Iraq.
Joel Mowbray returns today to report on Rep. Mandel's reelection battle in "Iraq war vet's service attacked in Ohio campaign." It's an important column that says a lot about the ...
Legislator-Marine Gets Attacked For Serving His Country
RedState: Conservative News and Community —
"He went AWOL" on his constituents by serving in Iraq
Joel Mowbray
has a must read column today about a Marine, running for office
in Ohio, who is being attacked for serving in the military
by his political opponent. Rep. Josh Mandel is a Republican State
Legislator in Ohio. His opponent, Bob Belovich, hates both the war
and the military in general. Barbara Belovich said Josh "went AWOL"
by fighting in Iraq.
Even Mr. Mandel’s motives for serving in Iraq are being
questioned. Mrs. Belovich claimed in an interview with this
columnist that Mandel “put his personal ambitions ahead of his
constituents.” ...

A hat tip to David Goder of OneJerusalem for sending us this Joel Mowbray Townhall.com column. Meet another ‘Josh’ running for re-election, Josh Mandel, American Jewish Marine running against attacks by anti-War crazies, in an Ohio state legislature race. Watch this YouTube video clip, here. Mandel has a counter part in my friend, Josh Sharf running as a GOP candidate in the Colorado House District Six in Denver. Sharf as you may recall bested anti-Israel Palestinian Arab advocate, Rima Barakat, in a primary battle in August. We wish both “Joshs”, ...
Joel Mowbray reports: Iraq war vet attacked again for his service
Power Line —
Our occasional correspondent Joel Mowbray (jdmowbra@erols.com) follows up on his column regarding the campaign waged being against Ohio state representative Josh Mandel:
When I reported last week that a Cleveland-area Democratic challenger was attacking the military service of his opponent, Iraq War veteran Josh
Mandel, the consensus was that it was a losing strategy. Perhaps so. But Bob Belovich has doubled down on that pitch, sending out a

Wash Post Federal Page 10/27/2008
The status-of-forces agreement that would govern conduct of the U.S. military and its contractors in Iraq beyond 2008 would apparently tie the hands of the next U.S. president in some respects if it was ratified by the Iraqis before Jan. 20.
