Perino: SOFA Means U.S. Can ‘Celebrate The Victory’ In Iraq
Think Progress —
Ever since Iraq’s cabinet “overwhelmingly approved” a proposed security agreement that mandates the full withdrawal of all U.S. forces from Iraq by the end of 2011, the White House has been engaged in a rhetorical dance — in large part due to President Bush’s long-held opposition to “artificial timetables.”
On Monday, White House press secretary Dana Perino tried to mold the agreement to fit her boss’s view, saying that the withdrawal timeline contained within is only “aspirational” and tied to conditions on the ground remaining favorable. (It’s not). ...
White House Declares Strategic VICTORY IN IRAQ! (Video)
Gateway Pundit —
Terrific! Thanks to the Leftists at Think Progress for pointing this out. White House press secretary Dana Perino today told the gaggle in DC that the conditions are such now that we are able to celebrate the victory that we've had so far. Of course, Perino also added that this would not have been possible if we would have followed the Democrats and cut and run from Iraq: From the White House: QUESTION: Yes, sorry, Dana, back to the Iraq agreement again that the Hill is being briefed on. What we’ve seen since then is that as a result of ...

Say Anything —
After five years of “mission accomplished” nonsense from the left (it never meant what they want you think it did, but the truth has now been lost in a mountain of partisan rhetoric) this is probably as close as we’re ever going to get to a declaration of victory in Iraq from a person in a position of power.

Outside of a few details that are yet to be hammered out, the mission is completed. The truly sad part is that we’ll never have a true “moment of victory” ...
